A visit to Cheow Larn Lake (Ratchaprapha dam) is a once-in-a-lifetime experience featuring towering limestone cliffs, breath-taking hiking in the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, encounter wild elephants and ancient cave explorations at this unique travel destination.
Itinerary
Day 1
Depart after breakfast (09:00am) for Cheow Larn by mini bus stopping en-route at a local market for you stock up on snacks, cigarettes, maybe some of the delicious Thai fruits, etc. The journey to the pier is approximately 1 hour.

You will then be transferred to one of our comfortable long tail boats which will take you to the center of the lake. On your way
you will get lots of chances to take photos or video of the amazing limestone formations. You may be lucky enough to spot monkeys or even the Great Hornbill which are often seen along this journey. You will then be taken to your accommodation where you can relax, have lunch and take in the views of this fantastic place. After lunch we will trek to the famous Num Ta Loo cave which is the highlight for some people with its stalactites, stalagmites and limestone sculptures. |
* We will spend about 1 hour exploring and walking in the cave.

Will I get wet?
Yes!
Some of the water inside the cave is chest deep and there is also a small waterfall. We will then make our way back to the boat . when the jungle comes alive with sound and maybe see some of the rain forests nocturnal creatures. Later returning to the raft house for dinner.
Day 2
After a good night sleep and a hearty breakfast start trip to morning safaris by boat After we will board the boat for a 30 minute journey to the foot of one of the mountains.
We will then trek for about 1 hour through the rainforest to a viewpoint that has to be seen to be believed. On the way your guide will point out some of the animals and plants that live in this diverse jungle, monkeys, hornbills, flying lizards, and more. We will then return to the raft house for you to relax, maybe swimming, or go canoeing before we return to hotel in the afternoon. (approximately2.30 pm).
*Walking in the cave: If there has been severe weather i.e. if there has been prolonged rainfall it may not be possible to walk all the way through the cave due to flooding inside.

On the way your guide will point out some of the animals and plants that live in this diverse jungle, monkeys, horn bills, flying lizards, and more. We will then return to the raft house for you to relax, maybe swimming, or go kayaking before we return to hotel in the afternoon. (approximate 2.30 pm).
